CLIFF HONICKERClifford Honicker is Poltronieri Tang's Director of Outreach and Relationship Development. Cliff has devoted his life to improving the health of people and the environment in America. From 2001 to 2006 Cliff was Administrative Director for the Lisa Ross Women’s Birth and Health Center in Knoxville, TN. During the first decade of their existence prior to Honicker’s tenure there, the Center had run $1.4 million in debt.. Honicker successfully led efforts to have the debt forgiven, and then worked to acquire over $750,000 in grants and gift pledges for the Center. Within 24 months, the business grew 189%. Within five years, net patient revenues grew from 340,000/year to over $850,000/year. . Prior to 2001 Cliff worked tirelessly for 20 years with various organizations to document the health impact of nuclear weapons production in our country, and to obtain healthcare services and compensation for atomic workers and community members. In November 1989, Cliff wrote about his work and research in a New York Times Sunday Magazine cover story entitled, “Hidden Files”, and was subsequently nominated by the NYT for a national award. In 1996 Cliff and his wife Jacqueline Kittrell co-founded the American Environmental Health Studies Project. Clifford’s work has been supported by grants from, the J.Roderick Mac Arthur foundation, Rockefeller Family Associates, The Rockefeller Family Fund, The CS Fund and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Cliff has also worked as a consultant and researcher to CNN, the BBC, and the Chugoku Shimbun of Hiroshima, Japan. |
